The Genie KEP-1 is used mainly on older garage door operators that cannot use the newer wireless keyless entry systems. You can have the safety and security of a keyless entry system no matter what age your opener is. Choose your own passcode to enter your garage without the need of a key or a remote transmitter. For your safety this unit is equipped with a "Panic Feature" that will remember a code for 30 seconds and activate at the touch of ANY button in case the unit is activated and someone/something gets in the path of the door. Programming your keypad is simple and quick, complete directions for installation are included.

REPROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS-

Unplug the transformer for 2 minutes - this will reset the board and erase old code

Place the set/run switch to SET(found inside main interface box)

Choose your pin # (1-8 letters or numbers) Enter pin #. Never use the * as part of your pin.

Press * button once to lock-in your pin #

Move the set/run switch to RUN - Programming is now complete

This Genie Safety Sensor Kit is compatible with all Genie garage door openers manufactured 1995 through present. If your opener was manufactured prior to 1995 it used a 3 pin connector at the head. If you have one of the 3 pin connector type units call us for assistance in how to configure the new sensors for your opener type.
